We visited a local farm in Coggeshall last week with the The British Quinoa Company to see how the quinoa crop is progressing.

Despite the recent drought, the crop is looking good. The fields could certainly do with some rain now, followed by a dry spell as we head towards harvest in mid to late September.

It was fascinating to see the crop first-hand and learn more about the work that goes into growing quinoa here in Essex.

A big thank you to Stephen P T Jones and Andrew from the British Quinoa Company for showing us around and sharing their knowledge.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the crop over the coming weeks and look forward to seeing how the harvest develops.
