A long-grain rice with a delicate fragrance, grown in India and Pakistan. It has white / cream coloured grains of Basmati rice grown from the plant Oryza Sativa. The rice has been de-husked from the paddy at the point of origin in India. The rice is then milled, graded, polished and colour sorted. When the rice is cooked it has a soft white texture with a distinctive Basmati aroma, indicative of Indian Basmati rice. It is an ideal side dish to accompany fish, meat and curry.
