PRUNES

A prune is a rich, dark, dried plum available whole or pitted. Only dried plums are called prunes. The Santa Clara valley has been the home of the American prune for many years but the increased value of land has moved US prune cultivation to the San Jose and Sacramento valleys. The Agen region of France produces some of the finest dessert prunes. Potassium sorbet is traditionally used as a preservative.

The product we offer in different sizes and either Ashlock or Elliot pitted include:

  • Santa Clara prunes (pitted or un-pitted, high moisture or natural) (USA & Chile)
  • D’Agen prunes (pitted or un-pitted, high moisture or natural) (France)
